feb 14-sunday- I was in Beer sheva until around 5 when I took the bus home. I got a tour of BGU(Ben Gurion University)
Monday we went to the wiesman institute. We got a tour and went to the science park. I found it much like the telus world of science in edmonton, only it was ooutdoors, and there wasn't as much there.
Today(tuesday) is our 'graduation' from Oranim, Then Avi(my tutoring student) wants me to call her.
So, the program is almost over, so I think I'm officially ending my blog. See you all In march

feb 11 12 13
Thursday(11) was my last day of volunteering! Some of the kids made us thank you cards, and the english teachers want to get together with us for a goodbye thing on tuesday. On thursday night we had a valentines day party, it was ok I suppose. Like all our other parties.
Friday I went to Tel Aviv with Elana, she's leaving in a week so she wanted to get gifts and whatnot for family. Friday night I went to Bar's house for dinner, and realized I lost my wallet( Don't worry mom, I cancelled my credit card and let my bank know. I also still have my passport. I don't keep it in my wallet.)
Saturday...well...I'm doing this. I have a phone date with my long lost brother tonight, and I'm gonna try to call my bank and see what I can do about getting money over here

Today I did absolutely nothing, except watch charmed and eat schwarma with Bar. Then I went to tutor. Now I'm planning to watch TV, and go to bed.

feb 3-7
Hey guys, so I kept kinda forgetting to write... but no I am not dead.
On wednessday I tutored for an hour and a half. Thats all, since I had no work
On thursday I DID have work...school...Where I lost my voice. Either because it was gonna happen anyways, or from yelling at kids all day
On friday I did basically nothing, until around 5 when Bar came back from Be'er Sheva and we went back to his place
Saturday I did some stuff I've been putting off for too long... such as finally set up my macewan account so I can check on my application, change my contacts in my gmail so they actually have the right email addresses, and update my pictures on shutterfly. I didn't , however, write a blog, which apparently led some people to believe I was either dead or deathly ill.
Sunday(today) I don't work anymore, so I am sitting on the computer at Bar's house. I was aimlessly surfing the net, when I decided to let everyone at home know I am, infact, alive and kicking.
Fyi:

feb 1, 2
Monday I went to school and had 1 group. The kids went to a play at 11. Then I went to daycare, and got sent home to drink tea and sleep. So I did
Today I wasn't feelin g much better, so I went to the doctor. She, of course, didn't speak english, so I spent an extra 10 minutes trying to explain I HAVE a cold, I'm not cold. Needless to say it was a fun filled morning. I also met an aspiring english teacher who offered to pay me to help her with converasational english. Yay for being a native english speaker in a foreign country.
Well I went home, I took a cold pill (courtesy of morfiks hebrew english translater) and slept for a bit. Then I went over to Avi's house (aspiring teacher) and talked with her and her son for an hour, and finally made some money.
Now I think the cold pill is wearing off, I feel less than 100% again, so I think I'm gonna go drink some soup( yes I mean drink...it's cup of soup:)) and watch tv, or read, or play שש בש (backgammon) or do somthing else not to active, and hopefully I'll be better by tomorrow.
Btw: Evangelical christians are fricken INSANE!!!(and no, not in a good way. )

Thursday night and friday I stayed in bed...wasn't feeling top notch
Saturday I went to Richon and hung out with Omri there for a while

Today there are 3 weeks left on our program. I'm leaving Israel 2 weeks later. I'm exited to see all my friends and family, but I will miss Israel. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, 5 weeks is quite a while for a vacation. I think I've done most of what I wanted to do here. Some things even two or 3 times.

Yesterday I went to יד ושם yad vashem(halocaust museum) with my whole group...I can't even describe it. It was so well done. It was a difficult experience for everyone, but very much worth it.
Today I went on an Oranim trip to Jerusalem. We toured the old city, saw davids tomb, and the last supper table. And of course we went to the cotel. Second time for me. There was an underground tour of the tunnels available, but I was already not feeling well, and as the tour includes wading through waist deep water, I decided to skip it.

sunday I went to the ramla shuk and the tel aviv shuk with Elana. I bought slippers and candy. It was a very eventfull day!
Monday was back to school...then daycare..., then a meeting on the holocaust.
Now I am at school, then I have Ulpan, then later tonight I'm finally going to see Avatar. I'm going with Bar.

Jan 15-24
All last week we went to the army. We volunteered through a program called Sar-el שר-אל . We were on base Tel-hashomer, Bakum, which is the base all the new recruits first come through. We put together all the bags the new recruits get( underwear, socks, berets etc...) and on wednessday we got to give them out! We also made other bags for the soldiers with things like bamba( Israeli snack) beasley(same) and shower bags. We unfortunatly had to live in soldiers bunks( just the group thank g-d) and eat their food. Over all I think it was an awesome experience, and I'd totally do it again.
We got back thursday, and I just slept all day/night.
Friday, I did pretty much the same thing, add movies and corn fritters into the mix.
Today was a bit more interesting. I went to Rischon-Leszion to meet a friend and we went grocery shopping and out for israels national food: FALAFEL!( sooooooooooooo good here.) Then we went and hung out at his place for a bit, listened to some music(hebrew and english,) and eventually he drove me home.
Tomorrow I'm going to the Ramla shuk with my roommate, and then going to Bars place in the evening.
Oh btw, I made salad for dinner. I know this isn't very interesting, but it was really good, and I just wanted to assure you all I AM getting my veggies. ( I had crackers eggs and a pear, so the other food groups are covered too)

Yesterday I went to work, daycare, and successfully succeeded in comunicating with some of the kids. Score! I also applied to Grant Macewan University. If You remember right, a long while back I applied to the UofA. I hope I get in somewhere. If not, I guess I'll look into upgrading.
Today I cleaned Emilys and my room and bathroom, ordered pizza( in a mixture of hebrew and english) and watched tv. I'm going to my host family's house for shabbat dinner tonight. We're going to the army on sunday, so I probably won't be able to write untill at least next friday. Actually I know I won't. They told us not to bring computers because they wi.ll draw attention to us, and that is not a good thing.

The past few days have been pretty uneventfull, school, after school, and ulpan. Normal stuff. Yesterday I DID call Luftansa though, and change my flight home from the 4th to the 15th( of march.)I'm still thinking about alliyah, but there's too much time restiction here. Also I wanna see everyone before I do anything.

Friday night I went to a pool hall in Beer Sheva with Bar and his friends
Saturday I was in Beer Sheva until about 8, when I caught the bus home. I did some hebrew homework, and we watched videos of the Israeli idol auditions, and just hung out around the house.
On Sunday(today) I went to school, and to the supermarket
I also thought about staying here vs. leaving, and I think I'm going to go back to Canada, for a little while at least. I'm still thinking of making alliyah, but its way to stressfull here... theres the whole time limit thing, theres the money thing, theres the problem of where I'm gonna live after the program. This could change, but right now I'm saying I'm coming home in march.

Jan 7th 8th
Yesterday we went on a day trip to Izrael valley. We went on 2 'hikes' and a long ass bus tour, It was really fun. Better than sitting in a classroom waiting for kids that may/ may not come. Pictures are on my shutterfly. I got my camera back from Eric and Sean last weekend!
Today I cleaned Emilys and my room and bathroom...then I went to Beer Sheva with Bars parents. I am here now. They're outside attempting to fix Bars car, and, I know nothing about cars, so I'm inside.
On the alliyah front, I wrote a letter to the RCMP requesting a letter of good standing/ criminal record check for the purpose of immigrating abroad. I still havn't actually figured out my plans, but I might as well have everything in order.

Today I had nothing to do, so I did nothing. Almost.
I talked to the Hebrew University(Rothburg) and ruled that out as an opti0n,I emailed Gordon college(again) and I emailed the Canadian government to request a letter of good standing in Canada for alliyah.
Oh yah! yesterday I also made a balance sheet for myself(because thats what I do for fun in my free time) and I figured out I actually have no money. Actually less than none. Soo.... just a reminder....if anyone knows of any possible tutoring work, tell me!

Yesterday I went to school, then later I went to Tel Aviv to visit Eric and Sean. Eric missed our big christmas/ chanuka/ birthday bash, so they took me out for a late birthday dinner.
Today I had my meeting with a Nefesh B'nefesh pre-alliyah counsler. I heard about all the benefits, and I picked up an application. I also got an application for Ben Gurion university. Before university starts, there is a free 5 month Ulpan course at Haifa university. You can also live there for 5000NIS($1500) for the full 5 months! Food is included in the 'rent.'

dec 31- jan 3rd
New years Eve I went out with Bar, to a bar in rehovot. Then we went to Altman(gang-a-bus) where they were doing kareoke.
Friday I studied hebrew all day with the help of some bona-fide israeli native hebrew speakers. Friday night I went out to dinner with Bar, his parents, and Tomer( his brother.) We met his cousin and her boyfriend there.
Saturday I studied for a bit, showered and slept. Saturday night I went out for sushi with my roommates and Emily's boyfriend, Chris.
Sunday I went to school, and now I'm going to Tel Aviv to visit Eric and Sean.
